India gets Asia’s longest high-speed testing track
The Union minister of heavy industries and public enterprises minister Prakash Javadekar has inaugurated Asia’s longest high-speed track for automotive testing named as National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) in India’s Pithampura district in Madhya Pradesh.
The newly opened high-speed track NATRAX is 11.3 km long and is spread on 2,960 acres of land in Pithampura, making it the fifth-largest in the world as well.
The 16 metres wide four-lane oval-shaped track will be used to measure the maximum speed of high-end cars, bikes and other heavy vehicles like truck, tractor and trailers. It is being ensured that there is no need to send domestic vehicles abroad for testing.
Prakash Javadekar shared the e-inauguration photos and short video of NATRAX through his official twitter handle and wrote, “High-Speed Track is the heart of any proving ground for the auto sector. Today, inaugurated the longest high-speed track in Asia at Indore. A proud moment for India and a key initiative in realising PM Shri @narendramodi’s vision of #AatmaNirbharBharat”

According to the facility management, Volkswagen, FCA, Renault, Peugeot, and Lamborghini have shown interest in using it.
